Suffolk One continues to take shape
One of the most exciting educational establishments to be built in East Anglia for many years is well on target and making impressions even before opening.
Suffolk One is an educational establishment for 16 to 19 year olds that will open in September 2010. Already hundreds of local students throughout the region have signed up to be the first group of learners to enjoy Suffolk One's state of the art educational centres. The facilities on site will include a performing arts centre; an indoor sports hall, an outdoor multi use games area, construction and motor vehicle zones and much more besides. Business and Community links have been built with a host of local organisations including Dance East, Willis, British Telecom, Milsom Hotels and the Ipswich Basketball Club. Principal Alan Whittaker, said, "Our brand new facilities are incredibly exciting and we are in the process of putting together a well qualified, energetic, enthusiastic and dedicated team to complement those already in place." "We are going to offer excellent advice and one to one guidance to our students whilst ensuring elements of fun and enjoyment are included in all learning programmes." "We have already put together a team of student ambassadors who will be representing the views of all of our students. All in all I feel proud to work for Suffolk One and I feel this is a great opportunity for our staff and students to positively help shape the future of education in this region."
