Suffolk One is committed to creating a sustainable educational establishment for South West Ipswich and South Suffolk students. The development aims to minimise the use of cars, and maximise the use of walking, cycling and public transport. This will result in a reduction in traffic congestion, greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants.
There is parking on site for bicycles and motorcycles.
Suffolk County Council Passenger Transport has developed a draft timetable of dedicated coaches for Suffolk One students which, alongside existing public transport, will ensure easy access for students from all the SWISS Partnership schools. Core tuition time at Suffolk One will be from 9.30am to 3.45pm
A draft timetable for all services is attached but please note that this may be amended in the light of applications received.
Click on the village directory to find your service and then on the appropriate timetable.
PLEASE NOTE
This and all timetable information provided by the Education Transport Service is intended to be a guide to students, parents and members of the public. While every effort is made to give accurate information, it is necessary at times to make changes at short notice for operational reasons. Many locations are served by more than one bus because of the high number of pupils travelling and the need for the Education Transport Service to control pupils' allocation to buses in order to ensure buses are not overloaded.
THESE TIMETABLES ARE THEREFORE INTENDED AS A GUIDE ONLY.
The excellent bus links across Ipswich and the use of the Park and Ride service at the start and end of the school day, will enable students from other areas to reach Suffolk One easily.
Students who live more than 3 miles from Suffolk One are eligible to apply for discretionary travel assistance. Students can use the County Council's Explore Card which gives the user half fare on all public bus services.
For students who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities, transport may be provided irrespective of the minimum distance where it is accepted by the County Council that transport is necessary to enable access to the education they require.
Further details of, and application forms for, the discretionary travel scheme are available on the Suffolk County Council web site or by ringing CSD direct on 08456066067
